Sharing a meal is one of the oldest social rituals of all time, it brings us together and this year we’re appreciating that connection more than ever. Food is also shaped by the area it came from and the distance it travelled to get to your celebration, so why not shop local and check out some of our hills favourites for your next get-together?

1. Cider and stone fruit at Raeburn Orchards

Out of the orchard and into the fruit bowl, it doesn’t get fresher than this. Summer brings with it stone fruit season and juicy plums, peaches and nectarines are perfect for your Christmas pavlova or summer salads.

Raeburn is also home to Roleystone Brewing Co, producing brilliant ciders for those hot summer days. If you’re a traditionalist you’ll love The Original with its fresh and crisp taste. For those chasing something a bit different, pick up Gold’N Pear for a touch of sweetness added to the mix.

2. Pimp up your grazing board at the Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre

We don’t just do maps and accommodation bookings! We also have a great collection of local jams, chutneys and honeys from local producers. Add some pickle to your platter or chutney to your cheese board to take your nibbles to the next level.

3. Sweet treats from The Pink Deli

Whether you’re after a small box of something sweet or full catering for that extended family event, The Pink Deli has got you covered. With a great range of vegan and gluten-free options you’ll be able to keep everyone satisfied without compromising on taste.

4. Wine from Myattsfield Vineyards

Standard red or white, or something a little bit different, Myattsfield has it all. If you’re having trouble making up your mind then dropping into the cellar door for a tasting could be exactly what you need. Make a day out of it by enjoying a glass of your favourite, accompanied by a cheeseboard overlooking the vineyards.

5. Produce boxes from The Organic Circle

Every Christmas lunch needs a side of delicious veggies; think crispy potatoes, caramelised carrots and pumpkin roasted to golden perfection. Pre-order a fresh produce box full of organic and seasonal vegetables for delivery or pick up.

6. Fresh sourdough from Blue Sky Bread

The humble loaf of bread has been a staple on our tables for hundreds of thousands of years and Blue Sky Bread are masters of the craft. Serve it fresh with butter or make it into toasties with leftover Christmas ham.

7. Beer from Last Drop Elizabethan

Did you know that the recipe for beer is the oldest recorded in the world? The best beer in the Perth Hills is from the Last Drop Elizabethan, but we might be a bit biased. Grab a growler of pilsner or wheat beer and make up your own mind.

8. Cheese please, from Borello Cheese

Wine and cheese are an iconic duo. For Italian style cheese made using traditional techniques and ingredients, this is the spot. Romano is a special favourite (it pairs so well with red wine) but there are so many options for the grazing board that you’ll not be short of ideas.
