Armadale has a wide variety of playgrounds to cater for all sorts of interests! Whether your child is an explorer, a nature lover, or prefers the adrenaline rush of a flying fox, we’ve got a spot for them. Round up the kids, pack a picnic and explore Armadale's playgrounds and outdoor spaces.

1. City of Armadale Nature Passport

If your kids love hunting for leaves and playing in puddles then the City of Armadale Nature Passport is a must! Featuring plenty of activities in Armadale’s best outdoor spots, spend the days earning badges for each activity. 2. Memorial Park

Relax in the shade of the century old camphor laurels while the kids enjoy the railway themed playground. This is the perfect spot for history buffs with History House Museum just across the road.

3. Newhaven Robot Park

As far as locations with playgrounds go, you’d be hard pressed to find a better suited picnic spot than Newhaven Robot Park. With a fallen robot to climb, plenty of balance beams and a huge flying fox, this park delivers on both imagination and thrills.

4. Shipwreck Park

Ahoy M’hearties! Take your kids on a nautical adventure at Shipwreck Park. A highlight of any visit is the all abilities flying fox, so everyone can enjoy the wind in their hair on this adventure. The kids will love discovering the 30m shipwreck full of pirate themed activities. Also home to the Sienna Wood Dog Park.

5. Lions Park

Grab the bikes and scooters and let the kids show off their road safety skills on the track at Lions Park. Enjoy the relaxing sounds of nature in the background from the shaded picnic tables. For those still with energy after a few laps of the course, Pioneer Village is accessible by underpass and is a great spot for a walk.

Carradine Road, Armadale 

6. Migrant Park 

Many families in the area have a link to Migrant Park with the site used in the 1940s to house refugees escaping war-torn Europe. Whether you have links yourself or you’re a history buff looking for a more immersive experience, a picnic in the Nissen hut is sure to be a unique memory of summer. As well as slides and climbing, the playground here includes sensory and nature play elements and a cubby house.

7. Livorno Park

A park for all ages, featuring a pump track for the adventurous. Younger kids can check out the scooter track around the outside of the park, join in a playground treasure hunt or have a go at the foosball table with your own small ball. Bring your picnic favourites to enjoy at the shaded picnic tables and BBQs.

8. Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre

Escape the summer heat and spend a day at Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre. Home to several pools to suit all swimming abilities as well as a zero-depth splash pad for little ones to cool off in the shade. On Saturdays from noon to 3pm a water inflatable obstacle course is available for kids aged 6+ to enjoy climbing, slipping and sliding*.

* from November to March, subject to public holidays and high winds.
