Red tape cuts in line for nature-based tourism

A 90 day eco and nature-based tourism project is set to identify areas where the government can cut red tape and implement effective recommendations to benefit eco and nature based tourism operators throughout Western Australian.

The project will run from up until March 2017. Tourism is a key economic driver in W.A. Premier and Tourism Minister Colin Barnett states tourism generates more than 97,000 jobs and injects about $10 billion a year into the local economy. By focusing on eco and nature based tourism businesses, the government is supporting one of W.A’s potential growth sectors.

Eco and nature based tourism operators can contribute to ideas to reduce regulatory burden by participating in the survey on the Department of Finance website here.
