Explore spring in the Armadale, Perth Hills Area, with some inspiration on what to see and do

I’M A NATURE LOVER

Amazing Outdoors

The geography, climate and location of Armadale combines to make a nature lover’s paradise. Gentle waterfalls cascade over dramatic granite outcrops and the abundance of national parks and dams in the area, allowing for excellent bird watching and wildlife spotting. Adventure, excitement and natural beauty await you.

Wildflowers

Wildflowers galore – See the best of Mother Nature’s beauty in this spectacle of colour in native bushland. The wildflower season in Western Australia starts as early as June up in the northern parts of our big sunburnt state, however in the hills spring and summer is really is the best time to enjoy the patchwork of vibrant colours against the backdrop of the Australian gumtrees and grass trees along the Darling Scarp.

Best spots to see wildflowers in and around Perth Hills Armadale; Settlers Common, Bungendore Park, Wungong Regional Park, Serpentine National Park.

Much of the Perth Hills Armadale region is national or regional parklands, where there is abundant birdlife as well as prolific displays of coulourful wildflowers. The topography is slightly varied from the harsh drier areas in Metro Perth, so we have advantage of showcasing some spectalur colour in our annual tulip festival at Araleun Botanic Park also.

So if you want to know what 140,000 tulips in bloom look like? Visit It’s Yates Springtime at Araluen and be amazed by blankets of colour as well as thousands of other flowers and plant species. Althought the park has so much more to oofer all year around, it would be a missed opportunity to not get on out there for a look at the undulating valleys, the native West Australian bush and the amazing gardens for a small entry fee.
